The Lakeside Express

So beautiful. So Peaceful.

This made me feel like I was on some exotic trip in the Swiss Alps.

The reason why this was such a fun outing was, of course, because of the company. My mom always said, "It's not what you're doing, it's who your with." Very true.

It was fun to just sit and talk...because that's about all there is to do on a slow moving train to nowhere. The kids all fell asleep on the way back because of the noise and rocking of the train. Lincoln was an angel baby falling in and out of sleep the whole time, totally content to sit still on my lap.

Funny faces. Come on boys, we need to teach you some better faces then that.

Sleeping Arrangments

(This only happened one night, New Year's Eve, while they were watching a movie. There is no way they we could have gotten away with this every night.)

Christmas 2009

Ahhh, Christmas Morning!!! I can't believe it actually came. It was so fun to talk about Christmas this year with the boys, they are at the perfect age to enjoy all the excitement. Hugging each other for the little gifts the worked to buy for each other.

Christmas is great when you are a mom! So much more exciting then it was before, I hadn't realized it as much until this year. I felt like with every gift they opened I was just (or even more) excited as they were.

The mess.

Lincoln loving the bell on his stocking.

Aunt Renea always gets the boys pajamas that they love,
and want to wear every night all year long.

Merry Christmas.
Christmas time truly feels different then any other time of the year.
This different feeling really struck my last year as I thought about it and how the feeling, in part, comes from people thinking about other people.
No other time of the year do more people across the globe do people take time to think about those they love and what they might do for them to make them happy.
I think this 'magic' of the season is really all the love everybody is feeling.
I love that the reason for this truly unique time of year is Jesus.
Only he can bring people together like this.
So whenever I think about how fun the whole month of December is, and how excited I am for what I'm getting for somebody (or what they might be getting me!),
when I see other people do really sweet things for others, my heart swells with gratitude to know that it is our Savior who is the reason behind all this love.
I love that we celebrate his birth with so much love.

Eve

Oh, the Bragonje's are all good sports. Especially while acting out one of my family traditions on Christmas Eve. We all couldn't stop laughing while trying to figure out our costumes.
I did feel a little bad that what was supposed to be Lincoln's big debut in the family nativity never happened. He was so wiped out by show time I figured if I made him stay up he'd hate acting out the nativity so much he may refuse to do it ever again.

(Oh we had a good narrator too, who was even in costume.
I guess she got stuck taking pictures.)

They loved this tradition. So much excitement that night. We all couldn't wait to go to bed.

Polar Express Day

I Love Kindergarten. Thank you teachers for doing so many
cute things for my kids.
