2013-
-On the last night of Christmas break I told the kids they need to get to bed because the had school tomorrow and Ammon says, "Finally!".
-On the last day of Christmas break David asked Joshua if he would shovel the snow off the driveway and Joshua said, "I don't know I don't think I'll have time." David and I looked at each other surprised and asked him why, he said, "Because I have scouts today."
-Josh has been telling me for a while that the number one thing he wants for his birthday is his own desk. As he was talking about this again last night he said, "I think that it's time I need some of my own personal space."
-Ammon knows that I come in a check on him every night before he goes to bed. One night he told me, "Mom, when you come in and check on me will you please not pull of my covers." The poor kid thinks I pull off his covers every night while he is sleeping! I told him that I always pull is covers up over him because he kicks them off. He just said, "Oh.".
-Ammon lost his first tooth and the next morning I realized that the tooth fairy forgot to come! I felt so bad and said, "Ammon, the tooth fairy didn't come last night." He said, "I know, I took my tooth from under my pillow and put it under my bed so I can bring it to show and tell." Ahh, that was close!
-Today I told Ammon that we would have to make Valentines for his classmates soon. He wondered what they were and I explained and then couldn't resist asking if he had a girl he wanted to give one to. He shyly nodded yes and I was dying to know who it was!! I tried so hard to get him to tell me and he did not want to. When I didn't give up he finally said, "It's you Mom! I want to give one to you and now you know!" I felt really bad but it was too cute.
-An observation made by Lincoln as I was getting James dressed for the day: "I have awesome clothes. James' clothes are weird."
- Ammon was so excited this morning as he was telling me all about his newest discovery, the whoopie cushion. He said, "Mom, as soon as I knew what that was I knew I wanted one!"
-I had Lincoln watch Tangled (I thought he would enjoy it) the other day during quiet/nap time. At the part where Repunzel and Flyn are in a boat singing to each other and staring at each others eyes I wondered what Lincoln was thinking. I asked him, "Oh, are they in love?". Obviously bored he responded, "I like bad guys."
2012-
January
Ammon: "I enjoy it sometimes when it is cold outside."
September
Ammon: Recently I had to take on a Gluten Free diet and while making something in the kitchen and talking to Ammon about some of the changes I'd have to make he looks up at me, very concerned, and says, "Do you want me to go gluten free with you Mom?" So sweet.
Lincoln: "Mommy, can you make me something yummy for my tummy? My tummy no like dinner."
Josh has been sick a lot, missing school and watching a lot of "Man vs. Wild". He's picking up some of Bear Gryll's British vernacular like calling his pants 'trousers', or referring to a branch as a 'bit of vine', garbage is 'rubbish', and pronounces a few words differently like the 'Himalayers', etc.. Tonight I found him running around with his pajama pants off and tied into knots at the ends so he can 'catch fish'. He also broke up about 10 hangers and made things out of them like bow and arrows and spears, etc.
Lincoln: While pulling into our driveway Lincoln tells his friends in the car, "This is the 'Gonje's house. Dat's me, Gonje. Me Lincoln Gonje Lincoln."
December:
-Lincoln, "Who's bringing us dessert tonight?" Our neighborhood is too good to us and the Christmas treats have been streaming through the door and Lincoln has definitely noticed.
Nov 2011-
Lincoln had been following Dave around all Saturday long. At point they walked through the family room where I was sitting and I see Lincoln with his head down, walking right behind David saying, "Dad awesome. Me awesome." He idolizes his dad.
Josh: During FHE David asked Josh what makes him happy. Josh said, "Three things. One, when you get home. Two, when I got the General Grevious Starfighter, and the day I get a wii." (I like the first thing the best) Sept 2011
Ammon: "Mom, maybe Jesus loves us even more then his specialist piece of gold."
Ammon: "Mom. A 'hun' is a Dad."
Josh: "Suzy is like in the lead at school." what do you mean "She's like CR's (the cougar mascot) best friend."
Is she in charge "No, she's not like in 1st place like Principal Bruener, she's just CR's best friend."
(Suzanne is the PTA president at Josh's school and apparently Josh has noticed that she's at school often)
cute words
