The Party
The 6th Birthday
It always starts with a much anticipated visit from the birthday fairy who has placed wrapped presents in the birthday blanket. The kids love this tradition and can't wait to sleep with the birthday blanket the night before their birthday.
He is soooooo into star wars legos. He just went nuts with every lego set he opened. So easy to please.

Aunt Sharon gave him $10 ! You can see how excited he was about that:
I always have to put out some of his baby pictures. It's always so sentimental for me:
I got to read a favorite book in his class (No Ordinary Day, by Matt Clement) and do an activity with the kids from the book. We did science experiments. Here is Josh as the King Bee for the week, receiving his crown.

I love my big son. He is so big to me. He is everything you want an oldest child to be; obedient, kind, happy, helpful, sweet, good example.... I love you Josh!

And I was worried his nickname would be Link.
This was cracking me up on Easter Sunday. He found a spare light saber on the floor and new exactly what to do. I guess he watches his brothers closer then I realized. He even knows how to furrow his brow and make some kind of weird sound effect.

Ouch. I realized as I was uploading this picture that I never even adjusted him in bed. I guess the risk of waking him up was too high. Sorry Bink.
Some kind of award...
These boys adore their dad, and for good reason. He takes good care of them, and would prefer to always do things with them. As I unloaded my camera I came across a few pictures of their recent adventures. Enjoy!
While I was at astake women's conference the boys went to Midway to see the Ice Castles:

Dad brought home a computer to take apart. This is serious fun for these guys.

The famous cave close to our house. The boys spend a lot of time up here looking for elk antlers and just hiking around and have been talking about spending a whole night up in the cave. Dave packed them up with sleeping bags and far too many clothes (there was still snow on the ground) and off they went. They read their library books in the cave that night and had fun setting everything up.

In the morning they had instant oatmeal and hiked the day away. Here is the view from around the cave.
