What a nice idea for a Holiday

This was fun jamming with Robert Keenan (a real ligit musician look for him on itunes, Dave's Uncle)

Your friendly neighborhood spiderman.

Thanksgiving this year was wonderful. We journeyed to Phoenix with our little fam, 13.5 hours to get there, 11.5 to get back. I was really worried about the traveling part of the weekend but it went really well. We woke up a 4:00am each time to hit the road early, hoping the kids would fall asleep for a couple hours of the trip. When they weren't falling asleep I was worried my plan would backfire and they would be even more cranky then normal. Luckily they did fall asleep and we had a couple hours of peace in the car. I loved the drive. I was excited to take Hwy 89, having never been on it and loved seeing all the little towns and dramatic changing landscape. Ever since we went to Zions Park last Spring I've been really enjoying watching the landscape change in our car trips. I even really like the drive to Las Vegas. David hadn't seen many of his cousins for over 10 years, so needless to say I didn't know who they were. We had a great time, fun trip to the large Phoenix Zoo, nice afternoon at a cool train park, and I even got to see my brother Ben and family. I really liked Phoenix. Every year I say that I'm thankful for my family, thats always the first thing to come to mind, so I've been trying to think of what else I am the most thankful for. It just comes down to all the simple things, to be alive, a happy home, the smiles on my boys faces.

Josh is an awesome fighter

The other day Josh approached me and informed that he is, "an awesome fighter." It kind of brought to my attention again how obsessed he is with fighting, and bad guys, etc.... When I read him his illustrated scriptures at night all he wants to talk about are the soldiers and if they are good and bad soldiers and what their weapons are called and why they have them. I can hardly get a word in. I'm getting good at skipping over the pages that have any sign of a weapon in it. Yesterday he was attacking me with his light saber and then disappeared. He came back in the room staring at me like he was hunting me and about to attack but I noticed this time that he left to put on his spider man slippers. I think he his trying to channel some spiderman super skills. And he never seems to be left out of a good nursery room dog pile (I think because he is the one who starts them). I don't blame you if you don't want your kids to play with my kids anymore, I'll just let you know when this phase passes. So until then, watch out, because Joshua is an awesome fighter.

Does Batman go to Preschool?

I smiled our way to preschool on Friday. I was glad to have my camera in the stroller as I was realizing how fun it must be to be three years old. Josh loves to ride his bike or his scooter to preschool while I enjoy pushing just Ammon in the stroller (josh is really starting to make the stroller heavy, hard to turn, etc...). This is Josh's favorite "funny face", I wonder were he picked it up.

My favorite Birthday!

We celebrated my favorite day of the year this week, Dave's Birthday! He's 28. Is that old yet? I still don't feel that old...so maybe i'm more out of touch then I realize and I'm old and out of it. It was on Sunday and Dave had an early meeting so when he got home we opened gifts. Josh had wrapped up a bunch of his own toys to give to Dave, but they were thoughtful like a toy wrench (because Dave likes tools), or a toy car (because Dave likes cars), etc...my favorite part was watching Josh wrap the presents. I would give him a piece of wrapping paper and he would put the toy in the middle of the paper and start wrinkling, not folding, the paper all around it; and then all the tape he used, it never seemed to connect two pieces of paper together. He was so excited. Dave opened presents and we were cleaning up and Josh gave me back his toys, "Here are all my toys mom." And I said, "No Josh, those are Daddy's toys now because you gave them to him." He just stared at me with a blank face wondering what he had done. Family came over for dinner and we had fun celebrating my favorite person. Thanks for the fun books Sharon, i started the one about the man who literally follows the Bible and it's pretty good so far, well written.

I can't stand it!

I feel like all day long I'm just thinking about how much I love my two little boys. Sometimes I just think they are so cute that I can't stand it anymore. I know this is just a severe case of nepotism because I am their mom, but sometimes I just can't believe they are mine. It's funny because I definitely have my days with them, but for some reason I seem to find so much joy in them lately. They were having so much fun together in the bathtub last night that I had to take a few pics. Man, i live a good life. I love you little boys.

it worked!

crash

my computer started crashing after sending emails and trying to publish posts. it's a bit frustrating especially when I take so long to get something posted or emailed and it doesn't work. So, do I have to bring my computer somewhere? Any suggestions. I'm afraid to attach any halloween pics because thats when it seems to crash the most. I'll keep trying but if this page isn't getting updated very often you will know why. And here is a cute idea: baby highchairs, a must have, but it's funny how you never really like the background fabric. we have one with a nice basic blue background but with all the cute fabrics out there it's a shame that there isn't more variety in the store. I stumbles across a great website while looking for a fabric ball pattern online and i regularly check it because this girl has such great ideas. It's , hellomynameisheather.com, and the other day she posted pictures of a recovered high chair (sept 24). I never thought of recovering the chair myself, but I think it could be pretty simple. I'm going to do this but don't know when I'll get to it, so if any one out there has time to attempt this then do it and send me pics.
Hopefully my computer problem won't keep me away for too long and I should be back online soon.
