What to do?

On the way to a BYU football game with our family we ended up in a five car pile-up. Luckily we were the last car to get hit and the civic (as you can see) really didn't suffer much damage. And even better, nobody involved in the accident was hurt. The person who caused the accident had just looked away for a second and had just changed lanes into our lane which had slowed to a stop. He didn't see it and the stoped cars started crunching into each other. Dave saw it all in his rear view mirror and told me that we were about to get hit. I didn't know if I should tense up, or relax, or turn to look, or how bad it would be. The impact wasn't too bad, and I was mostly worried that Ammon and Josh were okay. Ammon slept through it all and Josh was fine.
Anyway, the guy who caused the accident didn't have enough insurance to cover all the damage and so it looks like we would have to pay about $300 or more to fix our car. How annoying is that? I understand that it was an accident, and I'm not mad at the guy or anything, but you still kind of expect him to be responsible for his mistake. Now that I type it all out I wonder if we just need to show a little mercy on the guy and not go after him to pay out of his pocket to fix our car. I don't want to sue the guy. Maybe he has already had to pay a lot out of pocket, not to mention the cost that his insurance will go up. I don't know.

Eek! I'm glad it wasn't a more serious accident but man! That's still awful. That totally stinks too about now having to pay yourself to get it fixed. You're acting more mature about it than me. I'd be throwing a fit :). I need more lessons of mercy from you I think. :)

I can't believe how far behind I am on your blog! What an annoying thing! I am so sorry you've had to deal with this, but I am also grateful noone was seriously hurt!
